Amish people
The Amish are the old traditionalist deeply religious group of Christians. By their historical origin, the Amish people are Protestants who escaped persecution in Europe and came to the United States of America to build a new community based on the following old traditions and mutual help. Due to the fact that their own system of beliefs differed from the official church on issues like pacifism and being baptized in adulthood, the Amish people faced disagreement with Catholics and Protestants. Searching for own religious freedom the Amish people migrated to the USA. Even though the Amish are of the same origin as the Mennonites, one should not confuse them. Historically, the Amish and Mennonites had the same Anabaptist origin in the 16th century on the Europe territory (Kraybill, 2010). Today, these two groups differ in basic lifestyle rules. Unlike present Mennonites, the Amish people continue to lead a plain life, use a plain dress style, and avoid using most kinds of technology.Since the Amish culture is of a closed type, it is obvious that these people isolated themselves from the outside world. Today, everything Amish people possess is different from the modern world in general. Clothes, daily routine and work, education, and even language are rather different from what people in the outside world have. Due to the centuries of separation, this culture has unique features in almost all aspects of life. The Amish culture is an excellent example of a modern closed subculture type with a unique way of living, but very strong beliefs and the system of values.
Some people think that men and women are equal and so women
should do any job they want. Others feel that men and women are not equal
therefore there are certain jobs that are not suitable for women. Even there
are people who say that men should be paid more than women.
The question arises that are men and women equally valuable to society? What differentiates men from women? Is it the brain? Research has shown that men and women are sometimes good at doing different things. But this hasn’t proved any difference in the working and capacity of the brain itself. This indicates that the two genders have equal potential to be valuable.
Although men and women have set different roles in society, with men more often accomplishing roles in the public sphere, and women more often fulfilling roles in the private sphere. Regardless of whether you think this will change in the future or not and regardless of whether you find this division of labor desirable or not, it’s safe to presume that men and women are equally valuable to society.
Society would not function without the roles that men perform or without the roles that women perform.
Problems
In today's world, there is nobody who can honestly say that they have absolutely no problems or worries in their life. Everyone has something to deal with and things to get over in their life--that's why it's called life. As long as you're alive, you will constantly have to battle the burdens of life that all people encounter. Some are destroyed by the hardships and others overcome them. In Kate Chopin's "The Story of an Hour" she gives a glimpse at the life of one woman who, for a brief time, felt she would have no more problems, but then is shocked into death by realizing that her problems were not yet gone. The theme of the story is that you are never really free from the troubles of life until you are dead. I believe that everyone has problems or challenges to overcome every day. Even people who think that they are perfect have problems or challenges to overcome every day. I always have to overcome challenges or problems. No one in this world will not have any challenges or problems. They will have some type of challenge or problem. I believe anyone will be able to overcome those problems. People will always have issues when coming to problems or challenges. Sometime when I have problems in my daily life, I think of them as challenges to overcome. When you overcome those challenges, I know that you will feel good about it. I believe that no one should challenge a problem in their daily life. Because you get problems and adversity anyway, no matter what, why not at least make use of them? Thinking of those obstacles as challenges is a giant step in the direction of making hardship or difficulty has meaning. The best decision I ever made was to strive to do this. Don’t get me wrong. I still have my moments where I fail miserably and then gripe and moan for unknown amounts of time as I have a pity party. However when I’m done feeling sorry for myself I remember my goal to do this and suddenly there is a surge of strength that comes up that I didn’t know I had….and I can carry on. So I wish you the best as you strive for this goal!!!2019-2020
Has anyone ever had to give you first aid?
I think there are few people who had never been in a situation when they needed first aid. So I want to talk about fractures. There are types of fractures, open fracture and close fracture. For example If you broke your leg or someone broke his\her leg you have to follow to this types.
1. Keep the injured leg as still as possible. Do not let the person bear any weight on the leg.
2. Apply ice.
3. Control bleeding. If the victim is bleeding from their injuries, take steps to safely control the bleeding.
4. Look for other injuries. If a victim is injured in one area that might be injured in another area. If a victim shows signs of injury to the head, neck, or back, DO NOT move the victim.
5. Cover any broken skin with sterile dressings. If needed, the wound can be rinsed -- try to use sterile water or saline solution.
6. If an ambulance is responding, have the victim remain still and wait for the ambulance. If an ambulance is unavailable, the broken leg may need to be splinted. Be sure to immobilize the joints (knee, ankle, hip) above and below the break. Do not wrap the leg too tight.
7. Put ice on the break to reduce swelling. Put a sheet or towel between the ice and the skin to prevent frostbite. Leave ice on for 15 minutes, then remove ice for 15 minutes.
8. Elevate the leg above the level of the heart, if possible.
- Lay the victim on his or her back to reduce the chance of shock. Cover the victim with a blanket.
Few years ago I broke my leg and arm at the same time. I was at the country with my relatives and my parents had juts left and I fell right at that time, so they called my parents immediately and they brought me to the hospital. We didn't call ambulance because they will come late and I could't handle the pain. There they gave me first aid. They put peace of wood above my leg and then scrolled it with band, they did same think to my arm, that my bones couldn't move. After some time they did x-ray and found out that that they have to do an operation. It was close operation but it took them at least 1 hour to finish it.
It is too important to know what to do in any situation. So if you or someone broke your leg you can follow to this types.
About speed dating...
In my opinion speed dating can be good way of meeting people if it will be taken more seriously. Sometimes person wants to make some new friends and I think I would like to open such a club here but not for dating but for making friends, by the way no I’m not going to think about opening it I’m just sharing my opinion. As for me I can’t choose my partner there because I take relationships really seriously because if someday I have boyfriend we will marry. But let me imagine me there. I’m sitting and some random guys are coming to chose them partners or to have fun, I think I’ll ask some funny and not normal questions, for example I’ll ask him if he knew how many kg he should be to not be able to move. This was just an example of what kind of questions I will ask as I’m taking it so easy and not seriously. In Armenia if someone accidentally sees a girl whom he knows the life of that girl can become upside down because armenian boys will take it so seriously and will talk bad things about that girl. I hope no one will lose his\her mind and open speed dating club here.
Science and Religion
There are lots of conflicts in different fields but science and religion are the most popular and never ending kind of conflict. A few centuries ago for men it was not necessary to have factual proof and at that time the philosophy used to be very developed. If we go many years back by our mind we can’t imagine how people were narrow-minded that much. They thought for example if it rained that meant that the god of rain was angry with them. We can’t say that they were stupid ones but I think that they were trying to find something or someone whom they would be able to blame for their failure. But nowadays people need some proof. Everything needs proof. By the time passed mans’ brain started to be able to think more and more deeply. And by the time appeared science. But let’s not forget that religion is older than anything else. In the middle centuries the religion was more acceptable because people were not that good at science and for them religion was much more important. For example if we see Armenian writers at 10th century we will see that almost everything was about religion, God and Saints. I know that at that time it was not allowed to write about something else. With developing of science people began to think that science was more important than religion, and they started to oppose. If you think that science and religion are in opposite ways you’re completely wrong because they were and will be in war situation forever. So what is science. Science is something that always has proofs of everything and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe. And that is what men wants nowadays.
My dream job
I think everyone has dreams, especially about their job. So, a few years ago I started to watch some detective films and there I saw investigators. I really liked their job and now my dream is to become an investigator. As I decided I'm going to become diplomat. Why? Because in Armenia there is no girl investigators. There are some but they don't have interesting and criminal jobs because they are girls. And I want to have job which fits me as I want. I can't say what will be after years, may be I finally would be able to break the stereotype and can prove that girls have the power which have to be assessed.
Facts about musicians
1 Alice Cooper Baby Sat Keanu Reeves
How amazing would it be to grow up knowing a world famous star? It would be fantastic to say the least. Well, that’s a dream that most of us can never get, but not Keanu Reeves. When he was a child his baby sitter was Alice Cooper.
Keanu Reeves was once baby sat by Alice Cooper. When Keanu was young his mother had to work afternoons and she lived across the street from where Alice Cooper was recording. He offered to look after little Keanu for her at the studio. Little did he know what would become of Keanu Reeves, who is one of the biggest names in Hollywood today.
If you find it hard to believe that any mother would ever leave their young child with a rock star, watch the video below. Alice Cooper himself made the statement.
2 The Wiggles Originally Had Five Members
From hard rock to music targeted for a very different audience. The Wiggles are far from a band that will have underwear from their fans thrown at them. If anything were to be thrown their direction it would most probably be diapers, pacifiers and bottles. But if that were ever to eventuate they have one thing going in their favor. The Wiggles originally consisted of five members.
Famous children’s entertainers from Australia, The Wiggles, are mostly considered as a four member band. But did you know that they originally started out as a five member ensemble? Phillip Wilcher was a founding member of the kids band and appeared on the cover of their first album. He departed the band in 1991 before they became famous. The reason behind his departure vary but he has been compared to The Beatles’ Pete Best who left that group just before they became famous.
If you think that the comparison between Phillip Wilcher and Pete Best is a long bow to draw, but consider this. The Wiggles have consistently topped the earnings for Australian recording artist for years. And there have been some very high earning world famous musicians during the same time. It was kind of a big mistake by Phillip.
3 Origin Of The Wiggles Finger Wag
So we know that the Wiggles used to have five members, would you like to know why they wag their fingers? It all has to do with their own security.
According to Paul Piddick, who plays Captain Feathersword The Friendly Pirate, it was a decision to avoid any litigation. What litigation? Well, for a group of men who predominately work with children any accusation of inappropriate behavior would spell the end of the band, and likely prison time for the accused. So does it work?
In all photos of the wiggles with kids you can always see their hands with the pointing finger pose. This way there can be no claim of anything inappropriate. As far as the Wiggles are concerned, any contact with the children is un-called for, even if accidental. By avoiding any contact and keeping their hands where they are visible they are protecting themselves. This is a smart move to not only protect themselves, but also their multi million dollar brand.
4 David Lee Roth Insured His Sperm
OK, so the Wiggles play it safe and protect themselves from any trouble by keeping things, namely their appendages, to themselves. This is not the normal practice for musicians who are renowned for groupies and living life on the edge. David Lee Roth kind of knew of these perils when he entered the industry, but instead of keeping to himself, he did something which seems a little odd. David Lee Roth insured his sperm.
He did what? David Lee Roth, the frontman for Van Halen, insured his sperm. Why would anyone want to insure their sperm? I mean, it’s not like they will get injured or anything. Even if they did, they would be replaced within hours. Before we proceed any further we must point out that the didn’t insure his penis or testicles, he insured his sperm, and sperm alone. The reason, just like the Wiggles above, was ingenious.
He knew what life on the road was like. Lots of drugs and lots of easy and casual sex. If he were to get one of his roadies pregnant, it could end up costing him a fortune. If he knocked a lot of the roadies up it would send him bankrupt. By purchasing an insurance policy on his sperm he protected himself and his assets from an unwanted pregnancy.
5 Justin Bieber Came Second In A Talent Contest
Well having just finished reading about how a band and a singer have decided to protect themselves, we now move onto someone who needs protection from himself. Justin Bieber. The smug and arrogant young Canadian musician was catapulted onto the world stage when his mediocre song went viral on YouTube, being the most viewed video on the website until PSY nearly broke YouTube with Gangnam Style. But the rise to stardom, vanity and self importance wasn’t the smooth and easy path that everyone thinks the talentless Bieber had. In fact, if everyone around the world who made this less than gracious, wannabe musician famous, was as clever as the judges at a local talent contest were, we could have had one less over bearing asshole on our screens today.
In 2007, in a local talent competition in Stratford, Canada, Justin Bieber came 2nd. He sang Ne-Yo’s So sick and the performance was posted to Youtube and basically began his career.
This really makes me wonder. What happened to the person who beat Justin Bieber in the talent contest, and if that person is a nice person, why do we have Bieber today?
6 The Famous Beatles Decca Audition
We have just finished with one person who didn’t win a local talent contest, yet has gone onto big things with still very limited talent, now to a group with some serious talent. A group that is often regarded as the biggest bad ever, and were told they had no place in show business.
We are all guilty of making bad decisions, but not many equal the decision made by Decca Records when The Beatles Auditioned on January 1, 1962.
In 1961 The Beetles had not yet hit the big time and were in search of a recording company. They were heading for Decca Records in London for an audition that was scheduled for midday, December 31, 1961. They arrived at London 10 hours late for the audition so it took place the following day with 15 songs being performed in only 1 hour.
Now comes the surprising part. A couple of weeks later Decca Records rejected the Bettles’ saying “guitar groups are on the way out” and “The Beatles have no future in show business.” Surely some famous last words. Decca signed a band called Brian Poole and the Tremeloes who auditioned the very same day. The Beetles also tried to sign with EMI Records, but producers Norrie Paramor, Walter Ridley, and Norman Newell all declined to record them. The Beetles later signed with EMI subsidiary Parlophone, after producer George Martin heard the Decca demos, and the rest they say is history.

There’s little doubt that these guys were one of a kind, and it wasn’t until 1984 that at least one of their records were matched. In 1984 Prince had one number 1 album, film and single all at the same time. They were Purple Rain and When Doves Cry. This was an accomplishment that only The Beatles before him had achieved.
7 Aerosmith Has Ma5de More Money On Guitar Hero Than Any Of Their Albums
The game Guitar Hero: Aerosmith was responsible for earning the band, Aerosmith more money than any of their albums. This was the claim made by Activision-Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, and it would appear to be correct.
The game was released in 2008 as an expansion to the already popular Guitar Hero franchise. The player uses a toy guitar and presses buttons and strums in time with the music. the better the player performs, the higher their score. The game has been criticised for its focus on only one band and its relatively short and easy levels of play. That being said, it was an extremely high selling and popular game. It sold an astounding 567,000 copies in its first week earning more than $25 million. In the three months following its release it had earned more than $50 million, with over 1 million copies sold. Aerosmith also saw a 40 percent increase in their catalogue sales following the release of the game.
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is considered the best selling band-centric music game across both the Guitar Hero and Rock Band series.
Translation
On my nighttime walks the neighbors’ lives reveal themselves, the lit windows domestic aquariums. At times, I’m the silent witness to fights that look like slow-dancing without music. It is astonishing how people live, the messes they sustain, the deliciouswhiffs of cooking that carry to the street, the holiday decorations that slowly seep into daily décor. All January, I watched a Christmas bouquet of roses on one mantel diminish until the flowers were a blighted shrivel and the water green scum, a huge Santa on a stick still beaming merrily out of the ruins. Window after window nears, freezes with its blue fog of television light or its couple hunched over a supper of pizza, holds as I pass, then slides into the forgotten. I think of the way water gathers as it slips down an icicle’s length, pauses to build its glossy drop, becomes too fat to hang on, plummets down.
There is one mostly windowless place in the neighborhood, a yellow brick monstrosity that I love nevertheless, because it houses nuns. There used to be six nuns there, but attrition happened, as it does with very old ladies, and now there are only threekindly sisters squeaking around that immense space in their sensible shoes. A Realtor friend told us that when it was built, in the nineteen-fifties, a bomb shelter was lowered into the porous limestone of the back yard, and during sleepless nights, when my body is in bed but my brain is still out walking in the dark, I like to imagine the nuns in full regalia in their shelter, singing hymns and spinning on a stationary bike to keep the light bulb sputtering on, while, above ground, all has been blasted black and rusted hinges rasp the wind.

About japanese food
Food is very serious business in Japan.
Though I spend a lot of time thinking about the things I eat, I was still blown away by how much thought goes into the preparation, consumption, and appreciation of Japanese food. There is a level of obsession with food in Japan that I’ve never seen anywhere else.
If you love to eat and enjoy exploring food, culture, and culinary traditions, Japan should be at the top of your world travel bucket list.
Here are some things you should know about Japanese food:
1. Japanese cuisine is one of only three national food traditions recognized by the UN for its cultural significance
Last December, UNESCO, the United Nation’s cultural organization, added traditional Japanese cuisine, or washoku, into its Intangible Cultural Heritage list meaning that the preservation of this way of eating is vital to the survival of the traditional culture. It was only the second national traditional cuisine honored as such, after French food. (Mexican cuisine has recently joined the list.)
2. Japanese food is prepared carefully using seasonal ingredients and flavors
Japanese food is as much about the preparation and presentation as it is the food itself. A great deal of thought goes into every item served. While we think of only four annual seasons, Japanese chefs consider dozens of seasons and carefully select ingredients that are in their prime with flavors that represent that specific period. Because we visited in the very early spring (beginning of March) every meal that we tried included bitter components which is a typical flavor for this season. Tasting these flavors, connects Japanese eaters with years past.
Once finished, the food is carefully plated and the finished dish often looks like a work of art.
3. Simplicity is key
Courses include a few small items, often fresh and with simple flavors. Japanese chefs work with top quality ingredients and do as little to the food as possible to bring out the color and flavor.
4. Infrequent use of garlic, chile peppers, and oil
Many foods are seared, boiled or eaten raw and minimally seasoned. Umami (a rich flavor profile characteristic of Japanese food) is enhanced by using just a few ingredients including miso, soy sauce, mushrooms, seaweed, bonito flakes, and bonito broth. When foods are fried (like tempura) the batter is thin and absorbs very little oil.
5. Condiments add diversity
To add contrast to the food, simple condiments are often added to enhance the flavors. Light dipping sauces, citrus, miso, wasabi, pickles, and soy sauce may be included with the course.
As always my mind and thoughts were not like the other kids in my age. From the beginning I did not believe that there is someone who's bringing me gifts. I always knew that the author of my gifts are my parents. Christmas is one of my favorite days in the year, but I always hated the fact that we have to go some houses, put Christmas tree, make some dishes and so on. I can say that me and my family do not like traditional way of celebrating Christmas. As we don't have as much guests as everyone has, we aren't making so many dishes, we only make them 2-3 hours before the guest will come. So I can say that this way is quite easy and unstresfull. And what about the Christmas tree. Evey year I say my mom not to put Christmas tree as I do not love this type of decorations. For me it is not beautiful.
This year was a little bit dificuilt as I had some exams. But in other way it was one of the best years in my entire life as finally I had started to take saxophone lessons. Also now I'm in other school and I'm so excited to celebrate Christmas here.
Have you ever been a guest in someone’s home in a foreign country? When? Why? What was different?
Each
country has its own traditions. A few years ago I was in Australia. And
there we visited armenian-australian and also australian people’s
houses. I can say that there
were really different from each other. As we know the Armenians are
very hospitable nation and I can
not say the same thing about Australians. But what is important The Austrians attach great importance to communication. And
what about the Armenians. In Armenia when housewives hear
that someone is going to visit them, they get confused and they start
thinking about what to cook to amaze their guests. And finally the
guests
arrive. The first words are, "Please feel you as you’re in your house.
Take your jackets, take your seats". And then starts the most important
part. It’s not important if their house is so small, they should put the
biggest table. And what about dishes. They
put so many different dishes, and if you try not to taste each of them, I can say that the house lady will shrink. But
of course my description doesn't match
to all families. So, in Australia everything was different.
And I want to write about one thing that I really liked there. There is
a tradition like this. When you are going to go to someone’s house, you
can cook something and take it with you. And then when everyone has
already gathered in one place there will be many
types of dishes, and I think it’s interesting. You can share your
traditional dishes and so on. And finally the most important thing is
that the housewives also spend time with their guests, as in Armenia
they’re always busy in the kitchen.
My favorite book
I think this is not something new that I love Harry Potter so much. I love Harry Potter books and films at the same time, but to be honest I prefer to read than to watch them. But today I decided to talk about something different.
The book is divided into chapters. It has 27 chapters. And each of chapters
begin with the words of some famous person. At the beginning till the
end Jack describes haw that families were surviving. Jack London says there were
1,292,737 people living in London in 1902 who were living in households with
incomes of 21 shillings per week or less. He did some sums to work out
how a family of five would spend their money. He wrote the costs out in
dollars, because he was writing for an American readership, and used an
exchange rate of $5 to £1. Commodity US$ UK£ shillings+pence Rent 1.50 0.3 6,0
Bread 1.00 0.2 4,0 Meat 0.875 0.175 3,6 Vegetables 0.625 0.125 2,6 Coals 0.25
0.05 1,0 Tea 0.18 0.036 0,8.5 Oil 0.16 0.032 0,7.75 Sugar 0.18 0.036 0,8.5 Milk
0.12 0.024 0,5.75 Soap 0.08 0.016 0,3.75 Butter 0.20 0.04 0,9.5 Firewood 0.08
0.016 0,3.75 Total 5.25 1.05 21,0 21 shillings a week works out at £54 and 12
shillings a year. The book says that there would be many families with more
than five members, and that there would be times when the main breadwinner
would be unemployed, sick or otherwise unable to work. Then the family would be
desperate.
At the end of the
book, the author draws parallels between the Innuit tribe living in Alaska and the English
civilized people. If
we compare ordinary man living in Innuit with ordinary Englishman then we will see that
the life of the Englishman is more cruel than the life of Innuit . The
Englishman always has fuel, clothing and clothing, and the second is never
secured by them. It
turns out that civilization was not able to provide an ordinary Englishman as
much as the man in Innuit, but it is said that civilization is developing human
productive forces. There is only one answer -
the useless governing mechanism. There
is only one way to get out of this situation. It is necessary to make
civilization serve ordinary human interests.
The experience of being let down by a friend
A true friend is someone who sees the pain in your eyes while everyone else believes your smile. I think friendship is the one of the most important things ever. And also we must be really careful while we’re choosing our friends, but I think we aren’t choosing them, they’re appearing really unexpectedly. Friendship is a part of our life , and as the other things friendship can’t be perfect. We’re humans and we’re making so many mistakes, and one of them are fake friends. It’s really painful when someone who used to be your best friend is not with me now. First of all I think if my friend ever lets me down it will mean that he or she never ever been my true friend and he or she had never acted honestly to me.
To be honest I have never felt the pain of being
let down by a friend. And I think I can explain why. For a leally long time I
had no friends, I was studying the thoughts of the others and I was thinking
about what kind of friends should I have. And I think I finally found the
typical type of my friends. I was thinking that if I have friends first of all
they should be honest and a little beat crazy like me. Now I have small group
of friends and that group is getting smaller and smaller. But I think I
remembered something. One day when I was at my old school some of my classmates
said something which was really bad and painful for me and some of my friends
started laughing. And in that moment I felt like I’m as lonely as I could not
never imagine. I think someone can’t be a good friend when he isn’t with his
friend at the serious and hard situations. And what about the ending of my
story. One of my best friends was so angry with the others and she was the only
one who protected me. And since that moment I decided to not think about the
number of my friends. And now I think that the true friend will never let me
down, so as an advice I would like to say to the others not to get acquainted
with so many people just for Facebook likes. Let to be with you only those who
are ready to do everything for you and will never let you down, It is my
opinion of true friendship.
The greatest wonder of the world
In my opinion The greatest wonder of the world is a man. When the God made a man, he was allowed to built the World by his hands. The time passed and the human brain reached a high level of development. And now we have things about which we couldn’t even imagine a few years ago. When I was young, I was wandering as if I could talk with my relatives or with my friends at the same time without seeing them, and what about nowadays, I can sit in my home, open Facebook, Viber or Whatsapp and talk to them.
My hobbies
I decided to talk about my hobbies, because I like to be different,

Many centuiryes ago human picked up the robe
and tried to create the music, and what about nowadays, we can go to musical
store and buy what we want.
So, a few years ago human couldn’t imagine
that he would be able to travel by a plane, and also reach to the Space and this
wonders are created by the greatest wonder of the world.
I think 20 or 30 years later everyone will
laugh at what they used to use.
My hobbies
I decided to talk about my hobbies, because I like to be different,
Almost everyone collects something at some period in her
life. For example I have a great collections of monkeys. I have monkeys from
America, Australia and almost all over the World. And also I become really
angry when somebody touches my monkeys.
So my next hobby is reading. And to be honest I’m really hate
books which are about love and something romantic. I’m only reading books which
are beat of fantastic. And I really wont to say thank you to J. K. Rowling that
she gave us some wonderful books. The books about Harry Potter and his friends
are my favorite books. I have watched all movies also I have read all books. 3
of them I have read in Armenian and the others in English. Now I’m reading
,,Harry Potter and cursed child,,. I’m really big fan of Harry Potter.
In general my main hobby is writing, When I’m sad or I have
some free time I start writing. Now I’m writing something which name is “ A boy
looking for a sinner,,. It’s beat of fantastic. It’s about a boy whose parents
were killed by someone and finally he will find that someone who had killed his
parents. It’s also a little beat sad story because that someone who had killed
his parents was the main character of my story. And that character was the boy
looking for a sinner.
My biggest dream is to become a famous writer and publish my
own books, and I think one day my dream will come true, but in my opinion
writing will always be my hobby as not my profession as I have decided to
become an investigator or judicial psychologist.
And there were my hobbies.
